Pengertian Resensi

Pengertian ResensiKata "Resensi" berasal dari bahasa Latin, yaitu dari kata kerja "revidere" atau "recensere" yang memilik arti melihat kembali, menimbang atau menilai. Dalam bahasa Inggris dikenal dengan istilah review, sedangkan dalam bahasa Belanda dikenal dengan istilah recensie. Tiga istilah tersebut mengacu pada hal yang sama, yakni mengulas sebuah buku. "Kamus Istilah Sastra" yang ditulis oleh Panuti Sudjiman (1984), Resensi adalah hasil pembahasan dan penilaian yang pendek tentang suatu karya tulis.

Resensi adalah mengenai nilai sebuah hasil karya suatu tulisan tentang informasi buku baru atau bentuk lain sebagai pertimbangan kelayakan bagi pembacanya untuk memberi gambaran dalam bentuk buku, novel, majalah, komik, film, kaset, CD, VCD, maupun DVD dan sebagainya. Tujuan resensi adalah menyampaikan kepada para pembaca apakah sebuah buku atau hasil karya itu patut mendapat sambutan dari masyarakat atau tidak. Resensi juga bertujuan bagi penerbit atau produsen untuk mengenalkan produknya kepada calon pembeli.

Menulis resensi dapat dilakukan setiap orang. Penulis resensi atau peresensi disebut resensator. Dengan berlatih menjadi resensator, kamu ikut menyebarluaskan ilmu pengetahuan dan memudahkan orang lain mencari buku itu.

Pada sistematika nya, Resensi bertujuan memberikan pertimbangan kepada calon pembaca. Pertimbangan tersebut meliputi kelebihan kekurangan buku serta keunggulan-kelemahannya.
