ADVERB CLAUSE AND PREPOSITION

Adverb Clause
a) Because it was hot, we went swimming.
b) We went swimming because it was hot.
An adverb clause may precede or follow an independent clause.
Punctuation: a comma is used if the adverb clause comes first.
Preposition
c) Because of the hot weather, we went swimming.
d) We went swimming because of the hot weather.
A preposition is followed by a noun object, not by a subject and verb.
Punctuation: a comma is usually used if the prepositional phrase precedes the subject and verb of the independent clause.



a) It was such good coffee that I had another cup.
b) It was such a foggy day that we couldn’t see the road.

Such ... that encloses a modified noun :
Such + adjectives + noun + that
c) The coffee is so hot that I can’t drink.
d) I’m so hungry that I could eat a horse.
e) She speaks so fast that I can’t understand her.
f) He walked so quickly that I couldn’t keep up with him.

So ... that encloses an adjective or adverb :
adjectives
So + or + that
adverb
g) She made so many mistakes that she failed the exam.
h) He has so few friends that he is always lonely.
i) She has so much money that she can buy whatever she wants.
j) He had so little trouble with the test that he left twenty minutes early.


So ... that is used with many, few, much and little.

USAHA KERAJINAN KAOS KAKI

Saat liburan menjelang lebaran, setiap orang sibuk dengan segala hal mengenai perlengkapan lebaran hingga perlengkapan menjelang masuk sekolah. Salah satu hal yang dibutuhkan saat memasuki tahun ajaran baru adalah kaos kaki dan itu mudah ditemui di daerah sekitar rumah saya tepatnya di daerah Ciawi, kota Bogor. Disana terdapat dua usaha kerajinan kaos kaki yang memproduksi sebagian besar kebutuhan kaos kaki di kota saya. Salah satu dari usaha kaos kaki tersebut adalah usaha milik Pak Nana dan Pak Azan. Saat liburan dan setelah lebaran, saya sempat mengantar beberapa saudara saya untuk membeli kaos kaki di tempat usaha tersebut. Yang pertama adalah mengantar saudara saya ke tempat usaha kerajinan kaos kaki milik Pak Azan. Sambil bersilahturahmi dengan keluarga Pak Azan, kami sempat berbincang dengan istri pak Azan mengenai usaha kaos kaki yang di jalani oleh Pak Azan selama ini. Cukup tahu aja... (part 2)

Tambal gigi mengandung Mercury?? Merkuri ialah zat karsinogen, yaitu bahan yang dapat memicu kanker. Biasanya terdapat pula dalam produk-produk kecantiakan. Maka apabila kita menggunakan produk yang mengandung mercury, kemungkinan terkena kanker akan lebih banyak. Akan tetapi dalam penggunaan tambal gigi, prevalensi kejadiannya baru sedikit yang ditemukan. Gelas Keramik Apabila pada gelas keramik kita terdapat goresan-goresan, maka timbal dalam gelas keramik tersebut keluar. Timbal itu adalah unsur beracun yang apabila dalam kondisi yang berlebihan dapat membuat IQ kita menurun. Maka bila sudah terdapat goresan-goresan tersebut pada gelas keramik kita ada baiknya kita tidak menggunakannya kembali. Bayam Tahu ngga, dalam memasak bayam kita tidak boleh memanaskannya lebih dari 5 jam.
